We can all admit it, the school system is as confusing as it can be. If you’re all out of ideas and don’t know what degree you should go for, just stop. Make a list of your current hobbies and courses you feel most at ease with. 1. Theme Park Engineering

A degree that mixes high levels of fun with even higher levels of responsibility. If you are a big fan of heights and you really, really know your numbers, this is something you should at least look a few minutes into. You can opt to be anything from a ride design engineer to a ride test engineer, you just have to be a sucker for safety and regulations. 

2. Puppetry

Yes, you can major in puppetry! Making the actual puppets and their costumes to be later used on live theater or on a movie set. You will be expected to start small, designing puppets for small indie productions and build your way up. Plus, there’s a lot of freelance work that can be done along the way. 

3. Bagpiping

Get your degree in bagpiping at Carnegie Mellon. You will learn all there is to know about the bagpipe, enough to get you into playing it or to teach others how to play it. 

4. Fermentation Sciences

You already know what this is all about. Learn about the science behind fermenting beverages, specifically beer and wine. It’s a blend of biology, chemistry, and business, the perfect trio if you’re interested in working in related fields, like wineries, vineyards or breweries.

As the cannabis industry grows, so does the need for knowledgeable professionals. This major covers all the basics, from the biology and chemistry of cannabis to cultivation techniques along with the business side of the industry plus all the laws and regulations. 

6. Biomimicry

You will study natural systems and processes in order to be able to apply that knowledge to man-made products or systems. Basically, you will learn how to optimize our world to work just as great as the natural one does. 

7. Bike Design and Fabrication

How cool is this? You will learn how to design a bike and you will have to wear a lot of hats in order to do so. From studying 3D printing to welding, you will go through all the steps that are involved in creating a bike, including mechanical and computer-design. It’s a lot but if this is something that lights that sparkle inside you, Minnesota State College Southeast has a major just for this.  

8. Foresight

Yes, you can master in foresight, and if you go for the full time degree, you will be done in one year. You will learn how to look at things and more specifically, what to look out for, in order to determine possible scenarios. 

9. Horology

Guys, this is a fun one! If you really love your watches and clocks, this will seem like camp for you. The luxury watch industry is worth USD 41.41 billion so this makes for a very lucrative job opportunity. 

10. Ethical Hacking

This might sound like a word salad, but ethical hacking is more and more popular. With more and more hacking scandals being uncovered, not to mention the ones that go under the radar, being able to know how to create zero opportunities for hackers to be able to infiltrate is a giant hiring green card. 

11. Surfing

In popular terms you will be taught about the farm to table road that our food goes through. With a strong focus on sustainability, this program focuses on teaching you how food changes in all its stages, from before being picked from the garden to when it’s nicely grilled on your plate.
